Main Street

"Main Street is more than a line on a map. It's a sense of place, a reflection on a simpler past, a connection to a heritage.
In our heart of hearts, Main Street means coming home."

For the month of February, we'll be celebrating Main Street here at Decatur County History. By Main Street, we really mean the entire downtown historic district, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. If you have a Main Street memory or photo you'd like to share, please contact us or leave a comment. We love to hear from you!

  1. I remember my uncle Tudie Navarra's fruit market. As a child I loved the parades around the square, Fair store and Miners dept store. I'am Jack Foster's daughter, he is Audrey Navarra's brother. When I have more time I would like to give you some of our history.
