If you lived in Decatur County 100 years ago, you would have heard about this new-fangled hair dryer in the local newspaper.

"One thing that makes the washing of the hair a troublesome procedure for so many women, and which also prevents them from enjoying surf bathing, is the length of time it takes the hair to dry... Far-sighted folk at seashore resorts will lay in a stock of these dryers and rob the ocean of the terrors it holds for milady who is particular about her hair."
