50th wedding anniversary, 1915

John Marshall and Margaret Elizabeth (Hopper) Redington
50th wedding anniversary, 1915

I love this photo! One of my favorite things about it is that the easily recognizable Italianate brick and limestone "Wilderwood" home is visible in the background! Wilderwood (446 East Main Street, Greensburg) was built by Colonel John Thomas Wilder in 1865, and later modernized by the Minear family. It looks almost the same today as it did in 1915.

Right across the street from Wilderwood is the brick home that the Redingtons were probably sitting next to in the anniversary photo - 503 East Main Street.

  1. This is a photo of my Greatgrandparents. I just found another photo of them that appears to be taken at another anniversary, possibly their 40th. I will share an electronic copy with anyone who wants it. Email me at kvmitchell@gmail.com
