Greensburg Power of the Past

Looking for something to do this weekend? Don't miss out on a great opportunity to celebrate Decatur County's rural heritage at the 23rd annual Greensburg Power of the Past show, August 16-19 at the Fairgrounds.

The Greensburg Power of the Past (GPP) is a non-profit organization founded in 1989 to promote interest in antique tractors. The event includes a machinery show, music (bluegrass, old country and gospel), a toy show (August 18-19), a fiddle contest (August 18), and a variety of food vendors. Featured tractors this year are Oliver and Case. More information about the show can be found on the GPP website.

After the show, stop by the library to check out our collection of antique tractor books. You can learn more about the fascinating history of the tractor and its impact on farming, find out how to restore an old tractor, or look at pictures of all kinds of vintage farm implements. To see some of the titles we have available, check out our Power of the Past: Classic Farm Tractors board on Pinterest.
